The Department of Mathematics at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown seeks to fill a full-time non-tenure track, one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position beginning in the fall of 2017.

The teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester. Maintaining professional currency and service to the university are expected. A PhD. in Mathematics or Statistics (completed by the start date) is required to be considered for the position. Experience teaching at the college level is preferred and a strong commitment to excellence in teaching must be demonstrated. Proficient communication skills in English are essential. The University is especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute, through their leadership, research, teaching, and/or service, to the diversity and excellence of the academic community.
Preference will be given to candidates who have taught courses through the calculus sequence and beyond.
