The School of Mathematics and Applied Statistics, situated in the Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences (EIS) at UOW, is one of the best mathematics departments in Australia, achieving an “above-world standard” classification in the Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) rankings. We provide a learning and research environment that is supported by highly-qualified academic staff with expertise covering a wide range of sub-disciplines within the mathematical sciences.
This position will carry out teaching (primarily at the South Western Campus), research, governance and community outreach/professional service duties consistent with a Lecturer (Level B)/Senior Lecturer (Level C) position in the School. Desirable research areas of the appointee are either in mathematical medicine/biology or optimisation, although the position is open to any area of mathematics. Demonstrated teaching experience is also preferred.
