The Department of Mathematics invites applications for a
Assistant-Professorship for Mathematics in the research area Algebraic Geometry and Number Theory (Code. No. 42)
to be filled as soon as possible for 6 years.
Candidates should have a strong research record in a current field of Algebraic Geometry and Number Theory documented by an outstanding PhD thesis and further publications in this area. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the existing core research areas in the department, as well as to compete for research funding actively.
Successful candidates are expected to teach classes in German in all mathematical degree schemes. Beside scientific qualification, this makes didactic skills a basic requirement.
The position is not tenured. Applicants should hold a Ph.D. or equivalent in the above or a related areas. The experience as post-doctoral researcher should not exceed a total of 4 years. The prerequisites according to § 64 Abs. 3 Higher Education Act of the State of Hesse (Hessisches Hochschulgesetz, HHG) apply. Tenure Track is not planned. Remuneration follows the German W-Besoldung at level W1.
