The Department of Mathematics invites applications for two full-time tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant Professor, effective August 2017. The individuals hired will be required to teach mathematics courses from pre-baccalaureate to senior level, conduct scholarly research, and provide service to the Department and the University. These positions are contingent on the availability of authorized funding.
A Ph.D. in Mathematics Education (or equivalent doctorate with a Master's degree in Mathematics), Statistics, Mathematics, or Applied Mathematics is required. Candidates must be able to effectively work with our diverse and largely first-generation student body.
A candidate's consideration will be enhanced by providing evidence of teaching experience, as candidates must have a strong commitment to teaching. Preference will be given to those individuals who are able to teach a wide range of upper-division mathematics classes or have an expertise in Mathematics Education.
A complete application must include: an application letter, specifically addressing the position description and qualifications; unofficial photocopies of graduate transcripts; a professional resume, including the names, addresses, and telephone numbers of three references; a statement of teaching and research interests; and three letters of recommendation, at least one of which must address the candidate's teaching abilities.
